The Story
Ruby is steadily building a strong foundation as a performer. Since attending the 2024 CMAA Academy of Country Music Junior Course, she’s continued to grow her live experience and has added to her achievements in talent quests and busking competitions.
These include Third Place in the Tamworth Country Music Festival Best of the Buskers Competition, the Australian National Busking Champion of 2025 (secondary age-group), Top 6 Grommet at Bluesfest 2025, and a spot as a finalist in the Ekka Country Music Showdown. This year already, Ruby was awarded the Encouragement Award for the Tamworth TMFM Radio Discovered Talent Competition with judges Andrew Farris, Taylor Moss, and Jayne Dhenem.
She has won the Braddon heat for the Australian National Busking Competition, was nominated for the 2025 ICMA Patti McKinnon Encouragement Award, and reached the Top 150 out of over 500 entries in the Listen Up songwriting competition. Her original song Kamikaze Kangaroo was a semi-finalist in the Tamworth Songwriters Association, and she opened the stage at the Queanbeyan Country Muster alongside Lee Kehrngahn, The Wolfe Brothers, and Max Jackson.
Ruby has opened for Fanny Lumsden, Amber Lawrence, Kasey Chambers, and Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham.
Her sound sits within alternative country, Americana, and folk — shaped by the storytelling of Paul Kelly, the warmth of Eva Cassidy, and the indie country spirit of Fanny Lumsden.
